In addition to displaying their first visual components - a DLP projector and a plasma television - Yamaha also launched two new receivers. The $1199 RX-V2200 and $899 RX-V1200 fit neatly into their current lineup and offer Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic II, DTS, DTS ES Discrete, DTS ES Matrix and DTS Neo 6 decoding capabilities. Both feature six internal amplifiers with Yamaha's ToP-ART technology. The RX-V2200 is rated at 100 watts per channel, while the RX-V1200 delivers 80 watts per channel. The RX-V2200 features Zone 2 audio/video outputs, six channel analog inputs and a special DSP processor that yields 23 DSP programs with 45 variations - two more than the RX-V1000, the model this receiver replaces. The RX-V1200 includes 22 DSP programs with 44 variations and a new European Concert Hall DSP mode. Both use 24-bit/96kHz DACs for all seven channels, feature on-screen display and are supplied with new illuminated learning remote controls with macros and larger LCD screens.
