 Proton 

New Dolby Digital/DTS Receiver
Proton introduced the new AS-2631 Dolby Digital/DTS/Pro Logic receiver, which won a Design & Engineering Award at this year’s CES. The AS-2631 includes one optical and three coaxial digital inputs along with four audio and four audio/video inputs including one composite and three S-Video. It features a 24-bit DSP and 20-bit DAC and ADC for superb sound quality. The new receiver will be available at a suggested price of $800.

New Progressive DVD Player
A new 480p progressive DVD, the PDV-2001, was also awarded the Design & Engineering Award. It offers digitally scaled progressive images and can process any external 480i NTSC source to 480p DTV-class resolution. The PDV-2001 utilizes an advanced, reversed "3-2 pull down" algorithm for restoring the cinema’s glory. It includes component output, Dolby Digital/DTS coaxial and optical digital outputs and advanced picture adjustment that allows for color, tint, contrast, brightness, sharpness and zoom customization. The player has a suggested retail price of $1200.
