 Fisher

New DVD player models
Fisher is introducing three new DVD players. The top-of-the-line model is the DVD-9203, a 3-disc DVD/CD changer that offers DVD, CD, CD-R and MP3 playback capability. The $249 DVD-9203 features a unique joystick remote with TV control for optimum ease-of-use and system compatibility, along with a DVD management system for ease of use. The DVD-9203 also features Virtual 3D Sound, Dolby Digital and DTS digital audio outputs and component video out. Two other single-disc models, the $199 DVD-9201 and $179 DVD-7201 include many of the same features including a 10-bit D/A video converter, 96kHz 24-bit D/A audio converters, S-Video, composite and digital outputs.

Continuing with the DVD theme, Fisher has also debuted two compact DVD home theater systems. The first, the $449 AVD-8501, features a slim DVD player with a built-in receiver that can fit easily anywhere. The receiver outputs 30 watts into each of six channels and comes complete with six speakers, joystick remote control, extra video inputs and S-Video output.

At first look the new HTD-5100 looks like a regular pair of speakers - but built-in is an easy-to-use home theater system complete with DVD player and amplifier. The HTD-5100 delivers 2.1 channel Virtual 3D surround with 3 x 30 watts power, S-Video, component and composite outputs, optical digital output and video-in.

Finally, the Fisher RW-D250 is a new dual-deck CD-R/CD-RW player/recorder that offers 4X dub speed for fast duplication of CD tracks. The RW-D250 includes a sync record feature, 24-bit D/A converter, input sampling rate converters (32kHz - 48kHz), adjustable recording levels, optical and coaxial digital inputs/outputs and a full-function remote control. It will be available in April at a retail price of $399.
