I just got an RM-AV3000 off ebay. I spent a couple hours with it last night getting it to control all my gizmos. No problems at all... except.

In the manual, to change the label that is displayed on one of the fixed LCD buttons, it says to enter the learn mode, select the button you want to program, then hold down the component label (i.e. DVD, TV, etc.) and press the button to cycle through the available labels. Mine wouldn't change the labels. It did nothing until eventually it beeped NG for the programming. If the button was already programmed, it would give me the NG beep as soon as I selected it. I tried holding the on-screen label as well as the hard button.

Am I missing a step? Am I doing things in the wrong order? Or is the thing just not functioning properly? (FYI, I did a full clear prior to starting my programming)

Whether this works or not I am quite satisfied with the remote.
