I want to have a lightswitch that control an outlet across the room without having to run a wire. X10 sounded perfect, but they said the only way to do that is to get a transceiver to plug into the outlet across the room and use a remote control (held in your hand). What I want is an actual light switch that I can put in the switch panel as you enter the room. Is there a product like this?

Thanks,

Dave

X10 makes a 3 button wireless slimline switch SS13A, you will also need a TM751 Transceiver, for your outlet you will either need an SR227 which will replace your existing outlet or you could use either an AM466 appliance module or if you are going to control a lamp an LM465 module

Sounds great! Do these things break often (ie is it worth getting the warranty?)
