I currently have the Pronto 7000, that until a few days ago controlled my Pioneer Elliette , DVD, HD receiver and VCR and Plasma decently, it was a little tempormental. I am using RF signal as my component are in another room.
I just purchased a Sharp LCD SE model, a Sony Blue ray S550 and a new Pioneer VSX 01. My installer put everything back in and now my remote works sometimes at best but most of the time, I need to push the buttons 10 -15 times to get one button to work.
His guess is the problem is do to RF interferance. The Pronto extender I am using does NOT have an external antenna, so we have stretched the cords and drilled a hole to the next cabinet over away from the components and wiring (1ft away blocked by wood). No HELP.
He is suggesting the TSU 9400 because of its WiFi capabilities. ALL I WANT IS A REMOTE THAT WORKS THE FIRST TIME ALL THE TIME WITH IN 30FT of the components. PLEASE HELP. WHAT REMOTE WILL GET THE JOB DONE FOR SURE |

| Any of the new ones should work just fine. The new Pronto is a great unit. Your old one may just be getting worn out, as all electronics do over time. It could be that the internal RF transmitter is going out or that the RF receiver is going out. Keep in mind that even though the new one uses WiFi, it is still RF. WiFi uses RF, just with a standard way of communicating, just like Bluetooth. |
