| We have the URC MX-810 remote with the MRF 260 base station. Quite often, I wake up in the morning and/or my DVD player and/or receiver have turned themselves on. Also, sometimes when we are watching TV, the channel will start changing. What is to blame for these mysterious happenings and is there a way to stop it from happening? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. |

| Most likely setup and programming issues. Check to make sure the RF base station is not set to Zero and that the channel it is set to matches the RF ID in programming. It's also possible a neighbor is on the same channel. If you are not currently on channel Zero, change to some other ID on the base and programming. |

| Can you "dummy down" your answer for me please? The adjustable dial on the back of the MRF-260 is set at zero. There are two adjustable dials on the front with +/- indicators. Will adjusting these do anything? |

| Not sure how much more dumbed down I can make it. The dial on the bottom of the RF base station needs to be something other than Zero and the setting on the bottom of the base needs to match the RF ID in programming. Your problem is you have left it at Zero which is open to any and all channels the device will receive as well as interference from other sources and similar remotes. |

| Got it - I'm going to call the installer to come back out and change the RF ID# on the remote.

| Definitely do that. There is no way that should have been left on Zero...it will lead to all kinds of problems. I see you have an mx810...it's not possible to pull the program from that remote. The installer has that on his laptop and will either need to come back out or email it to you so that he can walk you through the process of updating the RF ID in the programming and on the base station. |

Thank you very much. I'm pretty sure I was one of the first installs these guys did with the MX-810. However, the reason they upgraded me to the 810 was that i was having the same problem with an MX-560 (I think that was the model number) - perhaps they didn't program that remote correctly either.
Having the narrow band was supposed to solve the problem. However, I suppose it only solves the problem when it's installed correctly :-)

Bingo! Tell them to RTFM :-) The mrf-260 and 350 are quite reliable and interference-free when installed the way they are intended. |

Tweeterguy is correct. Leaving the base station at 0 will create all sorts of issues. The programing on the remote may be correct and they just forgot to change to the correct base station ID. If they are new to this, they probably left it at 1 which is the default.
Good Luck |
